Save the Date: October 18th Begins Oral-Systemic Health Awareness Week
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 15, 2015 -- Dr. Lucas has declared that PICH will officially kick off Oral-Systemic Health Awareness Week on Sunday, October 18, 2015.
This will be an invigorating week for Leading Dentists in the Complete Health Dentistry Movement.
Beginning Sunday, October 18, PICH and NextLevel Practice will sponsor a 5K that will benefit Operation Smile.
On Monday, there will be a Say Ahh screening event at NYU’s Medical, Dental, Nursing and Dental Hygiene Schools. Attended by Faculty and Students, this will be the largest Say Ahh event ever attended.
In another opportunity to reach PICH’s goal of 30 million healthier people by 2020, Dr. Lucas and her colleagues look forward to having PICH’s Leading Dentists provide Dentistry from the Heart on Saturday, October 24th.
“Here is your opportunity to top off a week filled with what you do best - providing the best care to a large population in need and giving back of your time, talents and treasure!” said Dr. Lucas.
“Just think,” she continued, “all across our Nation there will be an outpouring of care from our community. During the week there will be other opportunities to serve and be heard.”
Here is a listing of the formal events PICH has planned, from October 18 through October 24:
10/18: 5K Benefiting Operation Smile
10/19: NYU Screening of Say Ahh
10/20: Free Sealant for Kids
10/21: Assisted Living Visits
10/24: Dentistry from the Heart
10/18-10/24: Each office will ask for their patients to make a $1.00 donation from each transaction that takes place during this week in their offices; matched by NextLevel Practice, up to $5,000, benefiting Operation Smile
To illuminate how individual practices can participate: Each can give back to their own pediatric patients with free sealants; hold a prize drawing for Sonicare toothbrushes; plan a visit to a nursing home or assisted-living community to provide a brief discussion on the importance of the oral-systemic connection and oral hygiene instructions; coordinate and host a Say Ahh Event Screening in their community; and so much more.
“I want to hear from you Doctors, Lead Pioneers and Team Leaders,” said Dr. Lucas. “What are some activities that you are planning to do that week? As always, PICH is here to support you in any way possible – partnering in Health and Awareness.”
