The Gateway Associates Board Raises Over $52,000 for Cancer Research
Schaumburg, Ill. (PRWEB) October 27, 2015 -- Nearly 300 young professionals throughout Chicagoland gathered at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers Chicago on Friday, October 16, 2015 in support of cancer research. The evening program included cocktails, appetizers, networking, silent auction, music and dancing.
Honored guest speaker Maddy Oliver, a Gateway-funded clinical trial patient, chronicled her life from the initial deadly cancer diagnosis at age 17 to being cancer-free at age 20 and living life to its fullest. “I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in my hip and I was terrified as this type of cancer has one of the lowest pediatric survival rates,” declared Maddy, “however, I was introduced to an innovative clinical trial funded by Gateway and that’s why I am thriving today!” Her inspirational speech reinforced the great impact an organization like Gateway has on cancer research and the ability to provide breakthrough treatment to future cancer patients like Maddy.
The Gateway for Cancer Research Associates Board members showcased a video for the event expressing why they personally support Gateway for Cancer Research and its mission to fund meaningful and breakthrough clinical trials worldwide that help people living with cancer to feel better, live longer and conquer cancer TODAY!
