Soldiers' Angels Adopt-A-Family Program Registration Officially Open for Military/Veteran Families and Sponsors
San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) November 12, 2015 -- Registration for the 2015 Soldiers' Angels Adopt-A-Family Program will be open for military families, veteran families, and sponsors until December 10th, 2015. Through this annual program, sponsors can ‘adopt’ a family for the holiday season. The sponsor will then provide presents for the children as well as a grocery gift card or prepaid Visa gift card for the family to purchase their holiday dinner and trimmings.
Full details on the registration process are available on the Soldiers' Angels website at: http://soldiersangels.org/Adopt-A-Family.html.
The goal in helping these families is to show America’s gratitude for the services and sacrifices they have made in order to serve our country. Military families usually live on a very tight budget, so putting together a Christmas or other winter holiday celebration can be a real challenge for some of them. Without the assistance of programs like the Adopt-A-Family program, many military families would go without any type of holiday celebration.
“The Adopt-A-Family program is a very unique opportunity for our sponsors to not only give back to our military, but also to connect one on one with an entire military family,” said Amy Palmer, President & CEO of Soldiers’ Angels. “The holidays can be particularly difficult for military families—especially those who are separated by deployment or who have been wounded, ill or injured. Through the generosity of our sponsors, these military families are reminded that we are forever grateful for all they have done for us.”
The program is open to families of deployed service members and families of Post 9-11 wounded, ill and injured service members. Selection for this program is need based, as determined by Soldiers’ Angels representatives.
Those interested in signing up to become a sponsor and adopt a family will need to join Soldiers’ Angels as a Team Angel first. By becoming a Team Angel individuals will be able to not only adopt a military family for the holidays, but also adopt deployed service members, join a letter writing team, sewing team, baking team, or choose from one of our 12 volunteer teams working year round to support military families.
For individuals that may be interested in adopting a family but are unable to do so by themselves, this is a great opportunity to team up with friends/family, co-workers, church groups, community groups, etc. and adopt a family together.
Soldiers’ Angels also encourages businesses to consider participating in the event. Working directly with staff at Soldiers’ Angels, businesses are able to adopt multiple families—making this a great holiday charity event for employees.
