Connor Sports Provides New Parquet Court for Boston Celtics Court to Be Featured Tonight in Documentary Film Premiere “Where Champions Play”
Boston, MA (PRWEB) November 17, 2015 -- When the Boston Celtics sought a partner to produce the third version of their historic parquet court at the TD Garden, they again turned to Connor Sports®, the industry leader in premium-quality sports surfaces. The new playing surface will be featured in a documentary film “Where Champions Play” premiering tonight at 6:30 p.m. Eastern at the Revere Hotel Theatre 1 in Boston. The documentary captures the famed court’s unique lore coupled with behind-the-scenes footage of the production of the latest version of the most famous basketball playing surface in the world.
Connor Sports and their design and finishing partner, Praters Flooring, manufactured a new basketball court that integrated key characteristics of the iconic sports surface, including the use of oak instead of the maple used in 99% of the company’s hardwood courts. The production process used historical information gleaned from exhaustive research with the Celtics organization, including former players, to adhere to the classic parquet design mated to state-of-the-art patented Connor sports technology to ensure maximum player safety and performance.
“Connor Sports is extremely proud to have represented the Boston Celtics as we developed a sleek, contemporary version of the team’s famed parquet court and to have the process featured in the documentary “Where Champions Play,” said Jon Isaac, President & General Manager, Connor Sports. “If you ask a basketball fan to name the most famous court in the world, the answer will likely be the Celtics court.”
This project was a true Connor Sports Champions of Sport initiative. Through the process of working with the team as partners, Connor Sports strove to provide the Celtics’ fans with the unique experience of learning how the historic court was made. Tonight’s exclusive documentary screening allowed the Celtics organization to give their VIP Sponsors and Courtside Club members a chance to witness this historic court project before it is made public.
