Visioneering Studios Designs and Builds New Destination Campus for The Father’s House in Northern California
VACAVILLE, CA (PRWEB) January 09, 2016 -- The Father’s House Church is dedicating two new buildings, in their new church and community home, this weekend, including a new 1,865 seat auditorium and a state of the art kids environment. While groundbreaking on the new 22-acre campus occurred in June 2014, the construction of this project has been part of Lead Pastor Dave Patterson’s vision for The Father’s House since launching the church in 1997 and means no longer meeting in a cramped, former strip mall.
“We’re here to reach our community. We’re building this new campus for people who are not here yet and to reach them with the gospel,” Patterson says.
The Father’s House partnered with Visioneering Studios, a leading nationally licensed real estate, architecture, and construction ministry started by former Disney Imagineers, to turn this dream of a community-focused campus into a reality. Visioneering Studios oversaw the $19M campus expansion, applying their expertise to every facet of the process from concepts, master planning, and design through project management and construction.
“The Big Idea for this site is to share the church’s passion for following the presence of God and creating a place for community to experience this presence. Design inspiration came from the Biblical narrative of God’s people on a journey of faith in the wilderness,” says lead Visioneer, Mel McGowan. The use of an “architecture of impermanence,” indoor and outdoor spaces came from this narrative.
Notable achievements in Phase I include:
• The Worship Center, a 32,500-square foot facility from which they’ll broadcast their services, including stadium seating for 1,865, additional overflow rooms, an interior baptismal, green room, café, and lobby
• The Children’s Building, a 14,000-square foot facility will host a licensed preschool for up to 160 children, has large group rooms, a check-in lobby, and a gated outdoor play area. This building will free up space for employees, as well as church members, in the business park
• Various site improvements, 680 parking stalls, including VIP parking – expandable to 1,000 in a future phase, landscaping and hardscaping, an entry fountain next to the Children’s Building, and a fountain at the Worship Center
• It will be one of the largest community gathering places in Vacaville
Phase II construction is scheduled to begin in 2016. The master plan also includes a facility for elementary-aged students, a middle- and high-school ministry building, a café and bookstore, and administrative offices. Visioneering Studios helped them design a comfortable, inviting space that serves as a “hub of activity” in the community, Patterson says – a place where there’s something going on every day and is more than just a “weekend event.”
The Father’s House will celebrate the completion of Phase I with special dedications at their scheduled services on Jan. 9 and 10. Executive Pastor Mike Sligar says the campus expansion goes beyond creating a collection of new buildings – it’s ultimately a means to help them fulfill the mission of The Father’s House.
“As we continue to grow, we’re able to do more in our community,” Sligar says. “It allows us to be more impacting in our outreach and the investment we make in people and community resources.”
