Dr Brady Salcido Introduces New Technology For February Heart Health Month
Westlake Village, CA (PRWEB) February 01, 2016 -- Always striving to provide the latest and best care possible for his patients, Dr Brady Salcido has never been shy to introduce the most up-to-date technology in his practice. With February being National Heart Health Month, Dr Brady has introduced a new technology for the community that has been receiving considerable attention around the world in the recent decade: Heart Rate Variability.
Heart rate variability is the change in time intervals between heart beats. and studies have shown considerable correlation between heart rate variability and the body’s efficiency and health. Dispelling the preconceived concept that a “constant and steady” heart rate should be the goal, Rollin McCraty, Ph.D. and Fred Shaffer, Ph.D. demonstrated the importance of heart rate variability to our overall health and well-being in their article Heart Rate Variability: New Perspectives on the Physiological Mechanisms and Assessment of Self-Regulatory Capacity and Health Risk. McCraty and Shaffer write, “An optimal level of HRV within a [person] reflects healthy function and an inherent self-regulatory capacity, adaptability, or resilience…Too little variation indicates age-related system depletion, chronic stress, pathology, or inadequate functioning in various levels of self-regulatory control systems.”
Dr Brady utilizes this technology to detect for subluxations, a term used to describe an abnormal position of the spinal vertebrae that disrupts communication between the brain and body through the central nervous system. These subluxations cause normal function to decline, increasing increasing stress on the body, and robbing individuals of optimal health. “Often times these subluxations go unnoticed and symptom-free until they reach the more advanced stages. Using this HRV technology can show exactly how these subluxations have impacted normal physiological function and potential,” says Dr Brady. Accordingly, Dr Brady provides specific programs based on these test results.
Dr Brady says, “by correcting these subluxations, stress is removed from the central nervous system and incidentally an increase is seen in HRV test results. Research has shown that a healthy, stress-free nervous system is a critical component for optimal health. It’s Vitality Family Chiropractic's mission to restore and maintain the health and vitality of our community through spinal health and wellness."
