New Online Version of AIS’s Directory of Health Plans Allows Users to Search, Export and Analyze Enrollment and Market Share Data
Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 09, 2016 -- Atlantic Information Services, Inc. (AIS), is pleased to announce that the new 2016 edition of AIS’s Directory of Health Plans will, for the first time, be available online. The best-selling annual Directory, a comprehensive compilation of enrollment data and contact information for all health plans operating in the United States, will be released in the spring.
As with previous editions, the Directory will be published as a printed book, and as data files on a CD or USB flash drive, but this year, the data also will be available on an interactive website, which permits the creation of specific analyses that suit the needs of each user. “Over the past 13 years we've fielded many customer requests for an online version of the Directory, so I'm thrilled to be able to offer this format now,” says Susan Namovicz-Peat, director of AIS’s Directories and Databases Division.
With data presented in an easily searchable format, and integrated user-support tools and explanations, the website provides a cost-effective way for teams of users to access information that can help them reach their sales, research or marketing goals. Features of the new online interface include:
- Additional state-level enrollment breakdowns — such as individual/small-group/large-group breakdown at the state/company level — that are not available elsewhere.
- The ability to search, sort, filter and export customized data selections.
- A lookup tool that calculates total enrollments for any user-defined category.
- Updates during the year to reflect major shifts in the industry, such as mergers and personnel changes.
- The latest Excel spreadsheets and PDF reports, which can be downloaded quickly from the website via a single click, as many times as needed.
- Dedicated user support from Directory researchers.
- Access for up to ten users, so the data and user-support features can be shared legally with colleagues.
- A newsfeed on events that impact health plan market share.
To produce AIS’s Directory of Health Plans, AIS’s on-staff researchers personally interview or survey a knowledgeable person at each health plan — including subsidiaries and parent companies — to get a clear picture of product offerings, contracts and markets, ensuring that each covered life is counted only once, and is categorized by plan models that are defined in a consistent and meaningful manner which reflect the current industry. “We're actually tracking 668 different enrollment fields for each insurer, if you count all the new state-level data,” Namovicz-Peat explains. “It is complicated, so I welcome these new online tools that allow users to pinpoint the data they really need and apply it in a meaningful way with more confidence than ever.”
