Mindset Works® EducatorKit Renamed MindsetMaker™
Walnut, CA (PRWEB) February 05, 2016 -- Mindset Works®, provider of educational programs that foster growth mindsets, announced a new name for their popular professional development course for educators, formerly known as the Mindset Works® EducatorKit. The program will now be known as MindsetMaker™. The new name better reflects the outcomes of the course. Through it, school staff learn how to cultivate a growth mindset in themselves and their students, while also gaining valuable insight into how to become agents of change in their classrooms and schools.
MindsetMaker™ is based on ground-breaking research by Mindset Works co-founder Dr. Carol Dweck, and it provides educators with a solid foundation in growth mindset theory and practice.
“Developing a learning-oriented school culture is complex, and it takes teamwork and time,” said Eduardo Briceño, CEO of Mindset Works, “but with MindsetMaker™, educators and staff can embark on a journey to align on practices that foster a growth mindset and motivation in adults and children." MindsetMaker™ is appropriate for teachers, instructional coaches, administrators, guidance counselors, school psychologists, tutors and other school staff who work with children in Pre-K to Higher Education settings. Educators become empowered with the knowledge, tools, and resources needed to become growth mindset makers in their schools.
MindsetMaker™ includes the following tools and resources:
• Mindsets & Motivation video series that teaches about the growth mindset and how to put it into practice. It includes informative videos with research foundations, interviews with students, and suggestions for practice.
• Discussion Boards with thought-provoking prompts that allow all participants to reflect and engage in dialogue with colleagues about growth mindset theory and practice.
• Tools and activities for teachers to apply their growth mindset knowledge, and instructional resources and activities for use in the classroom.
• Online assessments for educators to gain insight into the impact of their own mindset-related beliefs and practices, as well as those of their school culture.
The implementation of MindsetMaker™ is flexible. The online components take between 6-10 hours, and the activities for students can be used throughout the school year and beyond. The course is self-paced, so that it can be completed in manageable increments of time that work for the individual or teams. MindsetMaker™ can be used independently or within Professional Learning Communities.
