Conventus Launches Module II in the C.A.R.E. Certification Program for Medical Practice Staff
Woodbridge, New Jersey (PRWEB) March 03, 2016 -- Conventus, New Jersey’s premier professional liability insurer formed by and governed through an alliance of independent physicians, announces the launch of the second module in the C.A.R.E. (Conventus Associate in Risk Excellence) Certification Program series. This program is dedicated to helping independent medical practices enhance clinical outcomes through improved patient experiences, patient flow, office communication, and more. Conventus offers this on-site training to its members and their staff at no cost, including physicians, other providers, nurses, CMAs, practice administrators, and all additional staff.
The C.A.R.E. program is provided by qualified in-house healthcare consultants with extensive experience in training staff personnel. While Module I is focused on enhancing practice efficiency and improving provider, staff, and patient relations, Module II is designed to improve communication between staff and patients through the use of a specific communication tool. This second module session details how to implement each component of the A.I.D.E.T. (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You) technique, an evidence-based communication method that helps patients feel more acknowledged and trusting of practice staff.
“A.I.D.E.T. is the second module that we are launching and it focuses on communication skills. This communication model is really a tool to assist people in effectively communicating. As a professional liability insurance company, we recognize the significance of good communication skills in the physician office setting, and not just with patients. Providers and all staff as well need to convey information to maximize patient care,” stated Susan Lieberman, MBA, BSN, Vice President of Practice Resources.
Susan continues, “We are pleased to provide these programs to our members to help them with improved patient engagement and ultimately patient safety through better education. An additional benefit, as internal communication improves so can workflow and office efficiency, something every practice would enjoy.”
At the conclusion of each module session, trainees receive a certificate of completion and C.A.R.E. program pin. A framed C.A.R.E. certificate is also given to the office to showcase their dedication to quality of care.
Thirteen years ago when Conventus was formed to address a medical professional liability insurance crisis in New Jersey, our focus was solely on helping physicians succeed – and that fundamental concept has only grown stronger over the years.
