FEI to Present at the NAREN and ACRC Annual Conferences
Milwaukee, Wisconsin (PRWEB) March 09, 2016 -- FEI Behavioral Health, a social enterprise with an over 35-year history and a leader in workforce resilience—from crisis management to EAP—will present sessions at two upcoming conferences, the National At-Risk Education Network (NAREN) 2016 Annual Conference, and the Association of Children’s Residential Centers (ACRC) 2016 Annual Conference.
The NAREN 2016 Annual Conference runs March 16-18 in Baltimore, Maryland. FEI’s Business Solutions Engineer Raquelle Solon will present an informative presentation, “Transitioning to a Trauma Informed Approach to Crisis Intervention,” on March 16, 10:15 a.m. EST. This interactive discussion will discuss how schools can incorporate a trauma-informed approach to their overall crisis intervention strategy. Specific examples and lessons learned from schools who have transitioned to a trauma informed program, including specific aspects of the transition process, and how the program has benefited their school will be shared.
Solon is responsible for helping organizations determine and implement a holistic crisis management system. Raquelle is also responsible for the delivery of workplace violence prevention, leadership development, and crisis management trainings. She is experienced in reviewing current training policies and procedures to identify gaps and work with clients toward a solution. Solon was named “Woman of the Year” for the 2012/2013 year by the National Association of Professional Women for her dedication and role in workplace violence prevention.
The ACRC 2016 Annual Conference runs March 28-April 1 in Chicago. FEI’s Senior Director Terri Howard will present an engaging panel discussion, “Transitioning to a Trauma Informed Care Approach to Violence Prevention,” March 30, 3:30 p.m. CST. The presentation will discuss how residential care facilities can incorporate a trauma informed care approach to their organization’s overall violence prevention strategy.
Howard will be joined by Jeffrey Krukar, licensed psychologist and Lisa Pergande, program coordinator at fellow ACRC member organization, Genesee Lake School (GLS). Krukar and Pergande will share their personal experiences in transitioning to a trauma informed program, including specific aspects of the transition process, and how the program has benefited their organization.
Howard is responsible for working with FEI corporate clients to ensure they are prepared for, can respond to and recover from a crisis incident. She also coordinates the people support and psychological first aid services for those impacted by crises, and she is responsible for developing drills and exercises aimed at testing current plans and procedures. Over the years, Howard has contributed to several international standards and guidelines on crisis management and workplace violence prevention, including ASIS, a global community of more than 38,000 security practitioners, and the FBI.
In addition to their presentations, Solon and Howard will also be exhibiting at both conferences.
