Chisholm Trail Arts Council presents "Cimarron" in Duncan, the Heart of the Chisholm Trail.
Duncan, OK (PRWEB) April 13, 2016 -- From the cattle rearing Llanos Orientales, region of Colombia, Cimarrón performs the festive dance music of ‘joropo’, a fiercely virtuoso display of rippling melodies and powerful rhythms combining Andalusian, Indigenous Indian and African roots. The musical fireworks created by harp, bandola, cuatro, bass, cajon, tambora, maracas and high- pitched voices are simply breathtaking and have captivated audiences in 28 countries.
Their album "Sí Soy Llanero" was nominated at the 2005 American Grammy Awards for Best Traditional World Music Album. Their most recent album "Cimarrón! Joropo Music from the Plains of Colombia" won the category of Best Latino Album at the Independent Music Awards 2012.
