Limited to 120 registrants, this Austin-based event will focus on modern software development topics ranging from APIs/Microservices to HTML5 to Automated Testing. The iCAthlon Games will run from June 1-3, 2016 at the Top Golf Conference Center at the Domain in Austin, Texas – the Live Music Capitol of the World and the home of SXSW.
Partners IBM and CA Technologies will attend, bringing experts to update attendees on products and capabilities. IBM i Chief Architect, Steve Will offers the latest roadmaps and futures for the hardware and the OS. Since databases are increasingly critical, an IBM expert will be on hand to present DB2 and other database futures. Steve Solomon, CA 2E/Plex Product Manager will present a keynote address and lead a team of CA tech experts throughout the iCAthlon Games.

Corey Butler, Austin tech community thought leader and co-founder of Austin’s popular Bleeding Edge Meetup will speak on Rethinking Software Architecture as a Towering Drive Straight Down the Middle. Butler is very familiar with the Top Golf venue - As a Top Golf Technical Architect, Butler designed and implemented parts of the IOT software stack to update the golfing experience for the ancient game. Corey will show that similar results can be achieved with small teams managing current legacy systems.
Day 1 focuses on modernization back end principles, ensuring that attendees can understand workable solutions to move legacy applications to mobile, Cloud and more. Day 2 focuses on the front end UX and workflow. Day 3 offers three tracks where attendees can participate in small group projects.
