Next Generation Escape Room, “The Virus,” Created by Team of Hollywood Industry Experts, Officially Launches in Burbank
BURBANK, California (PRWEB) May 08, 2016 -- The experiential production company known as “Get the F Out” introduced today the world’s first “next generation escape room” in Burbank entitled, “The Virus.” The Virus was created by a team of entertainment industry experts comprised of veteran TV actors, adventure race creators, a production designer, music producer, theme park FX specialist, VR designer...and even a nuclear submarine engineer. This high-tech escape room boasts a virtual reality introduction, state of the art production design, startling visual and audio effects, and “compactor” walls that slowly close in as the sixty-minute time limit ticks down to zero.
“The Virus” presents a post-apocalyptic future in which a deadly disease known as the Red Plague has ravaged the nation. A team of two to eight players, assuming the role of the nation’s top scientists, must descend hundreds of feet to a high tech laboratory where they must combine four chemicals to create an antidote. The objective is simple: work together, find clues, decode messages and solve puzzles to find the cure and unlock the door to freedom. If you can complete the predetermined requirements in the allotted sixty (60) minutes you can help save the planet…or die trying.
“If the players are unable to complete their first task,” said co-creator Anthony Ruivivar, “they become infected with the virus. The laboratory detects this and begins a decontamination procedure. And let me tell you, being in the room and seeing those walls close in on you can get pretty freaky. People won’t be able to believe their eyes.”
“We wanted to blow everyone’s mind,” said Bob Glouberman, Virus Room co-creator. “I have played every real life escape room in town and wanted to create something to take escape rooms to the next level...something to place the player in an alternate reality.”
Glouberman created “The Virus” with an expert team including Fantastic Race co-founder, Larry Toffler; multi-platinum producer, Kerry Brown; actors Anthony Ruivivar (Banshee, Southland) and Yvonne Jung (Third Watch, Stuff); nuclear submarine engineer, Rob Moeck; Hollywood industrial artist and Criminal Minds fabricator, Robert Lambert; Knott’s Scary Farm FX Consultant, Darrell Ruivivar; Nine Inch Nails and Filter member, Brian Liesegang, and VR Designer Martin Rivera.
The Virus is located at 630 South Flower Street in Burbank. Tickets are $36 for people 13 years and older. Shows run 5, 7, and 9 pm on Thursdays and Fridays. On Saturdays and Sundays shows run every two hours from 10 am until 10 pm.
In conjunction with this month’s Friday the 13th and their official launch, The Virus is offering $13 off admission for all advance reservations for all Friday games throughout May, a savings of more than 35% off the standard admission price.
