Lincoln Surgical Hospital Selects Access Passport Web-Based Electronic Forms Solution to Advance Paperless Initiative
Sulphur Springs, Texas (PRWEB) May 12, 2016 -- Access today announced that Lincoln Surgical Hospital (Lincoln, NE) has selected its paperless, web-based e-forms solution, Access Passport. In keeping with its reputation as one of the leading surgical facilities in the United States, Lincoln Surgical Hospital is committed to providing the best possible care and service using the latest technology. So in its search for an electronic patient signatures and e-forms provider, Lincoln Surgical chose a vendor whose products provided advanced functionality.
“Access offered more than just the standard features e-forms and e-signature features,” said Lincoln Surgical Hospital CEO Robb Linafelter. “We also felt that their integration with MEDITECH was very strong.”
Access Passport will provide Lincoln Surgical Hospital with one place and one view for all its forms. Since the solution is web-based, e-forms will be readily available to authorized users across the hospital from the convenience of their browser.
“We choose technology with our patients and physicians in mind, and Access Passport will benefit both by helping us be faster and more nimble,” Linafelter said. “It’s going to move us closer to becoming a truly paperless hospital.”
Initially, Lincoln Surgical Hospital will deploy Access Passport in patient registration, where it will capture patients’ forms packets and the accompanying electronic signatures. Once all forms are completed and signed, the Access system will automatically send them into the correct patient record in the hospital’s MEDITECH EHR.
“Our MEDITECH EHR helped us meet the requirements of Meaningful Use Stages 1 and 2 and we’re looking forward to going LIVE with version 6.15 later this year,” Linafelter said. “When we decided to automate forms processing, it was essential that the system worked well with MEDITECH, and that’s what we expect from Access Passport.”
Another way that Lincoln Surgical Hospital will use Access Passport is to manage documentation pertaining to the Comprehensive Care for Joint Replacement (CJR) program. As one of the test sites for this initiative, Lincoln Surgical Center will provide patient education packets to patients in the six weeks before their hip or knee surgeries, and post-discharge materials in the 90 days following these procedures.
Access Passport will enable the pre-filling and personalization of these documents, and will integrate patients’ surgical consents and other registration e-forms into the MEDITECH EHR. Lincoln Surgical Hospital also plans to extend Access Passport, which is applicable to any department or workflow, to its bedside registration process.
“Access Passport will enhance our management of the CJR process from a documentation standpoint,” Linafelter said. “It will help us capture all the forms and signatures the CMS requires, and help us improve our educational materials.”
