Live Webinar: How Kinetics Studies Provide Insight into Product Behavior and Create Safer Chemical Processes
Greifensee, Switzerland (PRWEB) June 06, 2016 -- METTLER TOLEDO is please to present “Kinetics in Thermal Analysis” on June 23rd, 2016. The English-language webinar is part of the leading lab technology company’s year-long thermal analysis series. Covering reaction kinetics principles, technology, and applications, the presentation will repeat live three times to allow participation from around the globe. For a list of times and to register, please click here.
Reaction kinetics—a useful method for chemists and physicists that allows study of the rate at which a chemical reaction proceeds—dates back to the 19th century. At a basic level, it allows a reaction to be described in mathematical terms. Even more importantly, it offers the possibility of predicting how a sample will behave outside the practical measurement range, yielding information on aspects such as product aging, oxidation stability, and shelf life, as well as process optimization, without observing them over long periods of time.
Additionally, the comparatively recent evolution of model-free kinetics software allows reaction energy to be estimated without pre-determining a reaction model for both simple and complex reactions. This approach does not require a physical-chemical model and makes no assumptions about the “correct” one to apply. Simulation studies are enabledand results become more reliable.
The webinar will review the fundamentals of both reaction kinetics and model-free reaction kinetics. Real-world examples of how these methods are used in industries including food, pharma, and chemical to study drug shelf-life, chemical process safety, adhesive curing, propellant decomposition, and foodstuff denaturation will be showcased.
