FEI to Present at Emergency Management in Higher Education Seminar
Milwaukee, Wis. (PRWEB) May 25, 2016 -- FEI Behavioral Health, a social enterprise with a 35-year history and a leader in workforce resilience from crisis management to EAP, will present among select emergency management colleagues from across the country at the upcoming 2016 Emergency Management in Higher Education Seminar hosted by George Washington University Office of Emergency Management in Washington, DC, June 2-3, 2016.
FEI’s Senior Director of Crisis Management Vivian Marinelli will present best practices and actionable next steps to create and maintain safety among college and university communities. Her presentation “Beyond the Initial Response” will take place on June 2, 2 p.m. EST and will focus on crisis communication and emotional support.
Marinelli will share critical resources that higher education institutions can use to support students, faculty, staff and families during and after a crisis response. Attendees will learn what specific actions they must take into consideration following a crisis incident, and the crucial role an emergency inquiry center plays in providing psychological first aid to victims.
Marinelli has provided support to individuals and families impacted by mass casualty disasters including aviation accidents, terrorist attacks and natural disasters since 1999. She works directly with the customers’ emergency response teams to review existing emergency response and family assistance plans. She assists in developing and revising these plans to ensure operational feasibility and provides ongoing consultation and training on emergency planning and family assistance issues. She brings more than 20 years of work in direct clinical services specializing in trauma and grief counseling to her work. She holds a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology and is a Licensed Psychologist in Wisconsin.
