Polyonics Introduces Antistatic Films that Provide ESD Protection for Static Sensitive Components
Westmoreland, NH (PRWEB) August 25, 2016 -- Plastic films, used for packaging and/or protective layers in the electronics industry, are potentially charged insulators that can cause significant damage to ESD sensitive (ESDS) components and devices. Polyonics new antistatic films provide ESD protection and meet the requirements of the S20.20, JEDEC JESD 625B and IEC 61340 standards for charged insulators used in the proximity of ESDS. The ESD-Safe films include clear, non-metallic static dissipative coatings that provide surface resistances >10^4 and <10^9 Ohms, produce low triboelectric charging and are printable. They also provide high tensile, tear, impact and abrasion resistances, are impervious to a wide range of harsh chemicals and are thermally stable at elevated temperatures.
Polyonics ESD-Safe films are available in 25 µm and 50 µm polyimide as well as 25 µm clear and 50 µm white polyester. Other thicknesses and materials are also available upon request. The films are valuable elements in ESD control plans with applications ranging from packaging of ESDS electronics and microelectronics devices and components and protecting clean room surfaces to printed electronics, flexible heaters and audio devices.
Polyonics ESD-Safe films include,
XF-114, 25 µm clear polyimide
XF-118, 50 µm clear polyimide
XF-122, 25 µm clear polyester
XF-124, 50 µm white polyester
