STA Travel and the Fund for Education Abroad Launch "Start the Adventure" Scholarship
Chandler, Arizona (PRWEB) October 04, 2016 -- STA Travel, the world’s leading student and youth travel agency, has partnered with the Fund for Education Abroad (FEA), to create a new dedicated scholarship opportunity for two FEA applicants studying abroad during the summer semester.
Each FEA Scholar will receive $2,500 towards their study abroad experience to help cover the costs of a life-changing time abroad. Additionally, STA Travel will match each scholarship with a capacity-building grant of the same value for the scholar’s associated study abroad department, to support funding for an additional student’s study abroad program in the same year.
STA Travel’s Senior Vice President in the US, Adam Cooper, said: “It’s an honor for all of us at STA Travel to be working with the Fund for Education Abroad. As explorers ourselves, the Start the Adventure Scholarship is the culmination of an effort to make global travel more accessible for student explorers. Since 2010, the Fund for Education Abroad has awarded nearly 120 deserving scholars from demographic groups largely underrepresented in study abroad, including first-generation college students, minorities, community college students, and veterans. “An international education is invaluable, not only to the future of the individual, but also to the future of the collective, as a nation and world,” said FEA Executive Director, Jennifer Calvert. “FEA is proud to partner with STA Travel to ensure that Americans studying abroad are reflective of the rich diversity of the US student population.”
