MSA Security and Bosch Project Earns Security Innovation Awards Gold Medal
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 01, 2016 -- MSA Security and Bosch will receive the 2016 Gold Award of Excellence for security innovation in the category of National Public Safety Explosives and Weapons Detection Screener Support System Project at Secured Cities, the leading government security and public safety event, in Houston, Texas on November 15-17.
The award recognizes the collaborative project of Bosch’s Credentialed High Assurance Video Encryption (CHAVE®) cyber secure IP video solution enhanced with MSA Security’s SmartTech™. The solution delivers interoperable and interagency access to live explosive detection and support augmented by live and archived video surveillance by law enforcement and public safety agencies nationwide. As a result, CHAVE-enabled SmartTech™ and video systems are an allowable expense under the Urban Area Security Initiatives (UASI) grant program.
Using FIPS Publication 140-2 Level 3 certified encryption standards, the CHAVE cyber secure IP video solution implements full end-to-end encryption, eliminating the risk of interception, counter surveillance, image manipulation and unauthorized viewing. This solution removes the use of user name and password combinations that can be compromised.
Invented and designed by company bomb detection technicians, MSA’s SmartTech™ is a state-of-the-art and proprietary high-speed technology solution used in combination with security X-ray machines to include cargo, vehicle and eagle gantry units. Certified by the Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act, SmartTech™ provides 24/7 availability of subject matter expertise that yields invaluable cost and operational efficiencies. Business disruption and unnecessary evacuations are prevented with the unmatched ability to instantly transmit images of suspicious or unusual items to MSA’s Emergency Operations Center for real-time inspection and analysis by experienced and FBI-certified bomb technicians.
“Since receiving the STE Security Innovation Award in the Agency Security vertical market sector two years ago, Bosch and SecureXperts have continued to expand the CHAVE cyber secure IP video solution to include Genetec’s Security Center unified security platform, as well as a weapons and explosives detection platform provided by MSA Security,” said Darnell Washington, President and CEO of SecureXperts. “These solutions will continue to evolve as we ensure that today’s technology meets stringent cyber security controls and interoperability mandated by U.S. federal and enterprise commercial applications.”
