Swedish Pro Guitar Breaks Million Barrier with Music App
(PRWEB) November 18, 2016 -- The app Pro Guitar Tuner has been installed by over a million users worldwide. The co-founders Johannes Larsson and Rickard Östergård, both engineers and guitarists, now release the site ProGuitar.com. The aim with Pro Guitar is to create a modern community where both professional and beginner musicians can meet. The site will not only have an educational angle to its content but also offer other music related products and services.
Everything started in 2011 when the team developed a web app where the user could tune their musical instrument in a web browser through the computer microphone. At that time, it was the only available online guitar tuner that could analyze the sound from the instrument. The response was really positive. The only problem was that guitarists do not always have access to a computer. The need for a smartphone app was obvious. During evenings and weekends they improved the web app and began the development of a smartphone application, a fun challenge and a great opportunity to unite their two major interests: music and technology.
At first, they released the Guitar Tuner for iOS-devices on the App Store and soon after they published the Guitar Tuner on Google Play. Since the smartphone app release they are investing full time in the project. The app is growing rapidly with over 5,000 installations per day and is distributed globally. The top five countries are Indonesia, USA, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina.
"The success is evident in the exponentially growing user base. Aside from being a guitar player I am also a Luthier and I use Pro Guitar Tuner myself daily. Now, our main priority will be to reach out with our platform and we hope it will be received as well as the guitar tuner app," says Johannes with a smile.
