Halfacre Construction to renovate Ohio Eagle Anheuser-Busch facility
WEST CHESTER, Ohio (PRWEB) December 06, 2016 -- Halfacre Construction Company, a Florida-based private commercial construction company, will renovate and retrofit a 136,000-square-foot building in West Chester, Ohio, that will become the headquarters of Ohio Eagle Distributing, an Anheuser-Busch beer distributor owned by John Saputo.
Saputo also owns Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, an Anheuser-Busch distributor in Sarasota. Halfacre Construction built Gold Coast Eagle’s Lakewood Ranch, Fla. headquarters in 2009. While the Gold Coast Eagle building has a Mediterranean-style appearance, the single-story Ohio Eagle building in West Chester has a more modern look.
The renovation of the 15-acre Ohio Eagle site will include the addition of about 70,000 square feet of cold storage and upgrades to driveways, parking areas, electrical and lighting. Enhancements to the exterior of the building and a new front façade are also planned. Located at 9300 Allen Road, the existing building is eight years old and was previously used for a bakery supply company.
“Halfacre built the Gold Coast Eagle building and will renovate the Ohio Eagle building to Anheuser-Busch specifications when it comes to insulation, refrigeration and more,” Saputo said. “Beer has to be stored in a precise manner at precise temperatures, and I would consider Halfacre a specialist in beer distribution facilities and any facilities that need refrigeration.”
In addition to cold storage at Gold Coast Eagle, Halfacre Construction has completed several other cold storage projects in Florida, including a 52,000-square-foot cold storage Utopia Packing facility, the Dover Fresh Produce facility and Del Monte Produce facility.
The Ohio Eagle project will also entail a complete remodel of 15,000 square feet of offices and a hospitality and training center where Saputo will host events for the community and train his sales force.
“We’re looking forward to this building being the centerpiece of the company,” said Ohio Eagle Distributing President Devyn Dugger. “It will be somewhere we can bring our friends, family, customers and the community and show them what we do. We’re proud to invest in the West Chester community, and we’re proud to build a great facility for our employees.”
Ohio Eagle has 85 employees and serves a three-county area in southwest Ohio that includes Warren, Butler and Preble counties. The company distributes 3.2 million cases of beer a year.
The six-month Ohio Eagle building renovation is scheduled for completion on April 1.
