Imagination Playground on the Verge of Victory in 2016 Mission Drive
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 13, 2016 -- On the verge of achieving their 2016 play goals, Imagination Playground, LLC announced today having reached 2,944,042 of the 3 million children they set out to reach this year with creative play. The company says it can make 100% of its goal if 60 more schools or family centers commit to bringing an Imagination Playground to their children before year end.
Understanding that funding is frequently the only obstacle preventing children receiving the benefits of play, Imagination Playground President Dave Krishock emphasized the continued availability of Gift of Play—Imagination Playground’s offer of financial assistance to schools and family centers announced earlier this year. The offer, recently increased to unprecedented levels, translates to 20% off a set of Imagination Playground blocks of any size.
“We’re 99% there, but we won’t rest or claim victory until we’ve reached absolutely 100% of our goal,” said Krishock. “I want to assure our many friends that our commitment of help through Gift of Play is still available and yes, there’s still time. Please let us help you help your children experience the power of play.”
Imagination Playground says a total of 602 schools have been helped so far this year by Gift of Play. The program is also helping children’s play centers in underserved communities, such as the upcoming Tickleberry Place in South Los Angeles. Owner Lauren McElroy said, “I know kids like to problem-solve and make forts and build things, which is why when I saw the blocks I thought they were so exciting and had to get them. The Gift of Play was great and really helped. We plan to use them in pop-up events around the community until we get our permanent location.”
Elementary Principal Steve Ross recently brought a set of Big Blue Blocks to Island Pacific Academy in Kapolei, HI, and is very supportive of the unstructured, student-directed play that they encourage. “The Big Blue Blocks provide a wonderful opportunity for all of our students, K-12, to engage in open-ended play,” said Mr. Ross. “They give students an opportunity for unlimited self-expression. The only rule that we have for them is that ‘Big Blue Blocks are for building'."
