Scenic America Announces Mark Falzone as President
Washington, DC (PRWEB) April 27, 2017 -- Scenic America chairman Ronald Lee Fleming announced today that Mark Falzone has been selected to serve as the organization’s next president.
Falzone comes to Scenic America after serving as Deputy Director of the National Immigration Forum. Prior to that, he served five terms as a full-time elected member of the House of Representatives in his native state of Massachusetts.
During his tenure in the state house, Falzone was Chairperson of the Legislative Library Caucus and mobilized hundreds of librarians through various associations across the state. His efforts brought unprecedented attention, appreciation and budgeting to libraries.
“We are ecstatic to have Mark leading Scenic America,” said Fleming. “He brings a tremendous record of public service and advocacy to the helm of our organization, and we are confident that he will guide us to new heights in our mission to preserve and enhance America the Beautiful.”
Falzone has a lifelong passion for public service and the scenic environment, and brings with him 20 years of management, government, politics, policy, communication and business experience. Through his wide and varied experience he has developed strong strategic, creative, fundraising and leadership skills.
As a young man Falzone joined the local conservation club and worked for the betterment of his community. He believes strongly in Scenic America’s broadened goals as envisioned in their white paper Taking the Long View: A Proposal for Realizing America the Beautiful. Falzone says he looks forward to leading the implementation of the strategic plan designed to make Scenic America a more effective, viable and visible organization.
“I am honored by the opportunity to lead Scenic America,” said Falzone. “At age 14 I joined my first civic organization, a local conservation and open space protection group. In my career and in my life I have worked to protect and improve the visual environment, and I look forward to leading Scenic America to even greater achievements and success.”
Falzone and Scenic America’s Board of Directors express their sincere gratitude to outgoing president Mary Tracy, who served the organization for eight years with tremendous energy, vision and dedication.
