Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) May 04, 2017 -- On April 22, 2017 over 200 participants from companies located in the Dallas Texas area took part in the Fit Company Challenge, a corporate wellness event hosted by the Fit Company Institute. The challenge provided area companies an opportunity to come together as a team and spend a morning exercising, pushing their physical and mental limits and showing the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. Companies split their team into squads of 3 to 4 people who worked together to complete a variety of fitness stations to challenge their fitness level and earn points for their company. Teams chose what level to go through each course which allowed participants of all fitness levels to push their physical fitness without going too far out of their comfort zone.
General Datatech jumped from 9th place overall in the 2016 Dallas Fit Company Challenge to 1st Place overall in the 2017 Spring Challenge. General Datatech Team Captain David Maldonado was excited about their accomplishment and credited it as a complete group effort. From David Maldonado, “It was truly a group effort by this year’s GDT Fit Team working together to gain 1st place overall. I cannot tell you how excited we all are about this accomplishment. I think this shows the culture that we foster at GDT and the support we get from each other in and out of the gym. I am really proud of our team not only for putting so much effort into this event but for supporting each other through all our insane training and preparation. We all can’t wait to do even better next year!”
In their first year competing in the challenge Pegasus Logistics Group grabbed the 2nd overall spot and brought out over 40 team members to take part. From team captain and Pegasus Logistics Group Wellness Coordinator Jon Camero, “Our first Fit Company Challenge was an overall fantastic experience! It provided our unique and close-knit company an opportunity to grow stronger and healthier together in preparation for the competition. It was an amazing sight to see the level of support and out pour of positive energy and effort from each of our team members on event day.”
On event date, over 30 volunteers came out from FITNZ 360 (http://www.fitnz360.com), Elevate Fitness (http://www.elevatefitnessnow.com) and the Southern Methodist University Mustang Fitness Club. The volunteers assisted teams through the various courses as participants challenged their strength, conditioning, power, agility, and ended with a test of endurance to show their companies and colleagues that they practice what they preach. Participants used their involvement to bring out company team members, and family members to cheer them on and promote the importance of having fun and effective corporate wellness programs at their companies. The challenge was sponsored by KIND Bars who kept the participants and spectators fueled throughout the morning.
The challenge was held at Flag Pole Hill Park, located a short drive from downtown Dallas.
