Quantum Spatial Names Robert Hickey as New CEO
ST. PETERSBURG, Florida (PRWEB) September 06, 2017 -- Quantum Spatial, Inc., the nation’s largest independent geospatial data firm, today announced that Robert “Bob” Hickey, formerly senior vice president of Business Operations, has been named the company’s CEO. Hickey, a 30-year geospatial industry veteran, has assumed the role from Rajib Roy.
Roy has served as CEO since 2014, overseeing the integration of Aero-Metric Inc., Photo Science Inc. and Watershed Sciences Inc., which merged to form Quantum Spatial. He led Quantum Spatial’s transformation to the largest independent geospatial data and analytics company.
“We thank Rajib for his invaluable contributions to Quantum Spatial. He successfully brought together three companies and created a culture that inspired excellence in the execution of our business strategies. Through his dedication and expertise, Rajib built a solid foundation from which the company can continue to grow,” said Peter Manos, chairman of the Quantum Spatial board of directors. “Quantum Spatial is now in great hands with Bob at the helm. With decades of industry experience, he has a clear vision for the company and is well positioned to execute on it.”
Hickey, who was groomed to succeed Roy, is well versed in building businesses that intersect the public and private sectors, as well as customer-focused delivery organizations for both sales and operations. During his tenure at Quantum Spatial, Hickey’s leadership has been instrumental in expanding the public sector business and in contributing to the growth of key new industries including energy and transportation.
“I am honored to serve as Quantum Spatial’s CEO,” said Hickey. “Working together with our experienced team, I am committed to continue building on our strong momentum and further reinforcing Quantum Spatial’s position as the innovator and leader in the geospatial analytics market. We will continue to offer our clients the broadest and most technologically sophisticated offerings on a national scale.”
Hickey was the senior vice president, Business Development at Photo Science, from 2004 until its merger into Quantum Spatial in July 2013, where he continued to lead business development across the entire company. He later assumed the role of general manager for the company’s Public Business Unit, before expanding that role to senior vice president for all of Quantum Spatial’s business operations and business development activities. Earlier in his career, Hickey spent 18 years as vice president of Business Development at BAE Systems.
