Phoenix, Ariz. (PRWEB) September 13, 2017 -- Equality Health, the Arizona-based organization pioneering health care delivery to underserved and ethnic populations, announced it has added Dr. Shar Najafi and Tomás León to its executive team. With these strategic new hires, the organization has now swelled to 85 staffers, continuing to attract luminaries from a variety of health care sectors as it implements its holistic, cultural care model.
“Dr. Najafi and Tomás are game changers, both bringing critical insights to our team from the realms of holistic health care management and communications,” said Hugh Lytle, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Equality Health. “Their expertise will play a key role in promoting upcoming initiatives as Equality Health works to bring integrated, quality resources to its network of more than 700 providers.”
As the Senior Vice President of Behavioral Health, Dr. Shar Najafi will use her two decades of health care expertise to ensure Equality Health’s network of providers are able to integrate physical, behavioral and cultural care to execute a more complete, full person approach to care. Prior to joining the Equality Health executive team, she served as the Vice President of Outpatient Services with Southwest Behavioral and Health Services, where she was responsible for planning programs and implementing strategies to achieve outpatient clinic and operational service goals.
Arizona-native Tomás León, Equality Health Senior Vice President of Marketing and Strategy, is a subject matter expert on nonprofit and health care management, bringing more than 20 years of leadership, innovative strategy development and communications experience to the table. In his recent role as the president and CEO of the Institute for Diversity in Health Management at the American Hospital Association, he helped create and launched an award-winning equity of care campaign to eliminate health care disparities, engaging nearly 1,500 hospitals and health systems and 50 state hospital associations as part of a national initiative.
Equality Health is forging a new path in the health care industry to create better health outcomes, increase patient adherence and lower the cost of care for underserved minorities. Starting with the Latino population in Arizona, their cultural care model is adaptable to any underserved community across the country.
