American Intellectual Property Law Association 2017 Annual Meeting to Draw Thousands
Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 02, 2017 -- Intellectual Property practitioners from across the world will join together with their peers in the creative and legal communities at the American Intellectual Property Law Association's (AIPLA) 2017 Annual Meeting.
AIPLA's Annual Meeting, which gathers thought-leaders from all areas of patent, trademark, copyright, and trade secret law, expects hundreds of attendees to descend upon Washington, DC this fall.
2017 was a landmark year for IP law and many of the country's IP practitioners are facing new challenges as they adapt to the changing landscape of IP law. AIPLA's 2017 Annual Meeting is the place to be for attorneys, patent agents, businesses, and startups to learn how to navigate the year ahead.
AIPLA is pleased to announce it will bestow the AIPLA Board of Director's Excellence Award, its highest honor, on US Senators Orrin Hatch [R-UT] and Patrick Leahy [D-VT] at the AIPLA 2017 Annual Meeting. This is AIPLA's highest award, and is presented to individuals who have made outstanding contributions fostering intellectual property law.
Distinguished speakers include: Joseph Matal, Interim Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the Honorable Paul R. Michel, former Chief Judge, US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (retired), Karyn Temple Claggett, current acting Register of Copyrights. The program also includes a judicial panel with the Honorable Pauline Newman and the Honorable Kara Stoll from the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, along with a number of other top leaders in IP profession from around the world.
