New CMS Technology Platform Streamlines Credentials Data Management for Physicians, Substantially Reducing Expense and Improving Productivity
DENVER (PRWEB) November 09, 2017 -- A new joint venture between the Colorado Medical Society and 3WON, LLC, a Credentials Verification Organization (CVO) and Provider Data Management (PDM) specialist, is designed to consolidate all physician data management requirements associated with credentialing and health plan enrollment functions, promoting greater efficiency over legacy practices for physicians.
The newly formed statewide credentialing verification organization, known as CMS Credentialing and Enrollment Services substantially reduces administrative redundancy and burden and improves practitioner productivity.
Provider data management functions associated with credentialing and re-credentialing processes involve multiple layers of redundancy that have proven to be timely and inefficient as they relate to demands on physicians and other medical professionals. Because credentialing cycles offer occur every two to three years, health plans and their insureds contend with outdated provider data that often is the cause of reimbursement errors as well as inaccurate provider directories. The new CMS service is designed to centralize provider credentialing and enrollment functions and create a unique data repository for medical professionals to use for the circulation of accurate provider data. Essentially, physicians deal with one entity as opposed to many, for data circulation and document production.
“CMS is committed to providing our physicians high value practice productivity tools and this area in particular has become a real challenge for our members in terms of the time and cost involved in complying with requests for their data. Eliminating the redundancy in the process and ensuring data accuracy has proven to have tremendous benefit elsewhere and our objective is to produce the same member benefit here in Colorado,” said Alfred Gilchrist, CEO.
“We are delighted to join forces with CMS and to assist the society in providing a much-needed solution to an industry-wide data management problem, especially for physicians,” said Tom Bartlett, 3WON CEO.
The CMS Credentialing and Enrollment Service is available to all practicing physicians and offered to members at reduced annual fee. To learn more about CMS Credentialing and Enrollment Services visit http://www.cms.org or call 800-654-5653
