Gary Keisling Access Scholarship Applications Now Available For 2018
NORCROSS, Ga. (PRWEB) January 16, 2018 -- Gary Keisling ACCESS Scholarship Program applications for 2018 are now available to incoming Ashworth College students. Scholarships will be awarded in two categories: degree program students and career program students.
Eligibility for the awards is based on a combination of academic performance and an essay submission. Applications must be received via electronic submission by March 1, 2018. Recipients will be announced April 2, 2018, and awards will be made April 18, 2018.
“Winning the ACCESS Scholarship took a huge load off of my shoulders,” said 2017 ACCESS Scholarship recipient Hiedi Seelke from Washington.
Seelke returned to college after more than a decade, earned a certificate of human resources from Ashworth College and secured part-time work in her field. The 2017 ACCESS Scholarship award boosted her journey toward finishing her associate degree. She will tackle her bachelor’s in the fall of 2018.
“Knowing how far I’ve come—and how far I’ll go—with my education makes me and my family proud,” Seelke said. “I hope by the time I graduate with my bachelor’s degree, I’ll have the funds to travel to Georgia to walk across the stage.”
“We’ve awarded 71 ACCESS Scholarships since we started the program in 2011,” said Ashworth College president Rob Klapper. “It’s an honor when we get to share our students' educational dreams in this way. I can't wait to award more scholarships this year to deserving students.”
