Lisbon, Portugal (PRWEB) January 30, 2018 -- Xpand IT, an Atlassian Platinum Solution Partner, is pleased to announce the release of Xray 3, the latest version of the prominent test management app for Jira. Xray 3 was released to the public on the 12th December and is now available in the Atlassian Marketplace.
This is the third relevant product release in 2017. Much-awaited by customers around the world, Xray 3 brings more than 100 new features and enhancements, including test ranking within test plans, a test evolution gadget and the hierarchical test organization. As the most important functionality in version 3, the hierarchical test organization is implemented as two different but complementary features: the Test Repository and the Test Plan Board.
Pedro Gonçalves, Xpand IT CTO, explains, "The key principle behind Xray’s evolution is to deliver product features that our customers really need. That’s why Xray 3 introduces the most requested feature thus far — the Test Hierarchy. It is the result of several months of feedback collection, prototyping, development and beta testing, culminating in the delivery of an outstanding user experience.”
Another innovation in Xray 3 is the ability to import tests from HP ALM/QCs. By using the HP ALM/QC credentials and project details, users are guided through a simple wizard interface to import tests with the customized Jira Importer (JIM).
Fundamentally, version 3 is focused on improving organization, planning and execution of tests and in tracking their progress through time. According to Sérgio Freire, Xray Product Manager, Xray 3 “represents a new way of organizing tests in the context of a project. It allows teams to manage the test planning and execution in a hierarchical way, with the ability to define priorities and track the results in a more segmented way, for a subset of tests.”
Xray is a test management app that is seamlessly integrated with Jira. With Xray, you can create, view, edit and run both manual and automated tests as well to configure screens, workflows and custom fields. It also supports automated tests that can be run with Cucumber and can be integrated with other test automation frameworks like JUnit, NUnit or Robot.
Besides Xray, Xpand IT is also the developer of Xporter, a powerful reporting app that allows you to export issues from Jira to Word, Excel and PDF documents. You can find it in the Atlassian Marketplace as well.
