UCSF Health Selects Voalte for Enterprise Communication Across 6 Hospitals for Nearly 15,000 End Users
Sarasota, Fla (PRWEB) February 06, 2018 -- Voalte, the leader in healthcare communication technology, today announced an enterprise-wide agreement to deploy Voalte Platform™ for care team communication and collaboration at six hospitals and nearly 15,000 end users across the UCSF Health system.
“After evaluating the success of Voalte Platform deployments at our Mission Bay campus and comparing solutions from other leading healthcare communication vendors, we concluded that Voalte was the best choice for efficient care team communication across the entire UCSF Health system,” said Heidi Collins, Vice President of Clinical Systems at UCSF Health. “Voalte also provides a robust integration with our Epic electronic health records, ensuring that providers always have access to the vital patient information they need to provide timely and high-quality care.”
“After thoroughly considering all options, one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s most prestigious academic medical centers has identified Voalte as the one vendor able to meet all their caregiver communication needs,” said Trey Lauderdale, Founder and CEO of Voalte. “With our comprehensive communication platform connecting care teams across a complex web of inpatient and outpatient medical facilities, thousands of physicians, nurses and staff can focus more on patient care, patient safety and improving patient outcomes.”
The Voalte Platform implementation includes Voalte One™ on shared smartphones for nurses at the point of care, Voalte Me™ for physicians and others using personal smartphones outside the hospital, and the Voalte Messenger™ web client for unit coordinators and other desk-based staff. Voalte Platform replaces legacy phones and pagers, decreases the use of overhead paging, integrates with nurse call and physiological monitor alerts, and links to patient information in the electronic medical record.
“By bringing together all forms of communication, plus alarm and alert notifications on one unified smartphone platform, our caregivers can quickly access the information they need and efficiently collaborate with providers, no matter where they are across the extended UCSF Health system,” said Tina Mammone, PhD, RN, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at UCSF Health. “We look forward to partnering with Voalte to conduct cutting-edge research that will establish best practices in communication and collaboration technology to improve care across the continuum.”
UCSF Health will roll out Voalte Platform at UCSF Medical Center at Parnassus, UCSF Medical Center at Mount Zion and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland. UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital San Francisco, UCSF Betty Irene Moore Women’s Hospital and UCSF Bakar Cancer Hospital have been using Voalte solutions successfully since 2015.
