Research Reveals Increased Valuation and Expectations of Healthcare IT Professionals
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (PRWEB) February 07, 2018 -- According to a recent study by Pivot Point Consulting, a Vaco Company, it’s a good time to work in healthcare IT. In fourth quarter 2017, Pivot Point Consulting conducted an anonymous survey of 488 industry professionals across the United States, covering questions of compensation and career motivation. Among their findings: the average salary of full-time HIT workers has increased by 12% since 2015, growing from $93,960 to $107,146. Survey participants anticipated those gains to continue, with nearly 49% of salaried full-time employees reporting they expect a salary increase in the next year in their current role, and 97% of hourly consultants rating pay “important” or “highly important” when evaluating a potential contract. These factors reflect health IT professionals having a higher valuation than ever before.
Other key findings include:
- 56% of contracted consultants said they would consider a full-time role, and 94% of full-time employees said they would consider taking a consulting role
- Higher salary was rated a primary factor for both contracted consultants and full-time employees considering a new job opportunity
- 66% of contracted consultants said that the option to telecommute/perform remote work was either a “considerable factor” or a “deal breaker” when considering a new role
The full report will debut at the HIMSS18 Conference and Exhibition. It is available for pre-order here.
