Innovative Spinal Neurosurgeon Dr. Todd Lanman Leads Way with Artificial Disc Replacement Presentation at April 17th Spine Conference
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) April 06, 2018 -- Dr. Todd Lanman, one of the world’s most sought after and high profile spinal neurosurgeons, will lead a presentation about Artificial Disc Replacement at the Marina Del Rey Hospital on April 17th, helping to educate peers about advances in spine surgery and motion preservation, particularly relating to cervical artificial disc replacement.
Lanman, of Beverly Hills-based practice Lanman Spinal Neurosurgery, will walk fellow surgeons through an hour-long conference that will bring newfound awareness around the uses, indications and revision strategies relating to artificial disc replacement, of which he has pioneered as the principal investigator of one of its most recent newly FDA-approved clinical trials.
Dr. Lanman is often invited to share his knowledge, present his findings and educate peers about motion preservation surgery and Artificial Disc Replacement in the cervical spine. He recently appeared in Atlanta to conduct testing on cadavers by installing a new lumbar spine implant for fusion.
During the conference, Lanman will also be focusing on revision strategies. Many of his patients from both Los Angeles and around the world now seek out his expertise in this regard, as he is a leader in revision surgery and correcting symptoms of Failed Back Surgery Syndrome, most often removing fusions that patients have had in the past in favor of newer technology. After removing the plate and screws that make up fusions, which limit or completely inhibit motion in the spine, Dr. Lanman often installs artificial disc replacements, allowing these patients to regain mobility, giving them the ability to once again lead active lives.
“I am excited to have been invited to come speak and to educate fellow doctors within my field about the benefits of artificial disc replacement for patients, and the strategies and methods that help patients to maintain and reestablish motion so that they can lead active lifestyles,” says Lanman.
Lanman recently was named as one of Los Angeles’ Top Doctors in the Los Angeles Times, and as one of the country’s top spine surgeons in United Airlines’ Hemispheres magazine.
Lanman’s practice is affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s Institute for Spinal Disorders and UCLA Medical Center.
