The Impact Awards are a celebration of excellence in the community, designed to honor members and affiliates for outstanding achievement in business development and collaboration. The TSMSDC is a Nashville headquartered non-profit organization servicing Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia, helping expand the business impact of minority-owned businesses.
Guy Brown’s CEO, Tera Vazquez, expressed gratitude saying, “As an active member in the TriState Minority Supplier Development Council and the MWBE community, it is truly an honor to be recognized once again as the TSMSDC Supplier of the Year. As part of the evening's celebration, the TMSDC Education Foundation awarded over $114,000 in scholarship assistance to 19 graduating high school student achievers through generous donations from corporations, minority businesses and individuals associated with the TSMSDC. The Education Foundation was inaugurated in 1993 with a mission to provide assistance and support to at-risk students to continue their education beyond high school. It has since provided over $1,800,000 in scholarship assistance to over 325 graduating students.
Guy Brown has supported the council's scholarship program since 2007, providing over $150,000 in scholarship awards, and over a dozen internships. “I believe in the power of education, and supporting the TMSDC Eductaion Foundation is an important part of our membership,” reiterated Vazquez, "if we can help some extremely well-deserving teens, we are investing in the future of our community and ultimately society as a whole.”
