Industrial Internet Consortium and Entrust Datacard Present IIoT and Security Forum on May 10 in Prior Lake, Minn.
NEEDHAM, Mass. and MINNEAPOLIS (PRWEB) May 01, 2018 -- The Industrial Internet Consortium® (IIC™), the world’s leading organization transforming business and society by accelerating the adoption of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and Entrust Datacard™, a leading provider of trusted identity and secure transaction technology solutions, will host a one-day Forum on the IIoT and its security implications. The event will take place Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Mystic Lake Event and Conference Center in Prior Lake, Minn. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required.
At the event, experts from Entrust Datacard, members of the 250 IIC organizations, as well as event sponsor companies will discuss emerging trends and techniques to combat cybersecurity threats. Participants will hear examples of threats that can be applied to all industries that the IIoT touches.
“The Minneapolis-St. Paul area has an active IoT community and we look forward to the discussion between industry leaders, partners and attendees,” said Josh Jabs, vice president, office of the CTO and general manager of IoT solutions for Entrust Datacard. “Entrust Datacard is excited to host this security forum with IIC to drive IoT security standards and share insights from our collaboration on the IoT Security Maturity Model.”
The Internet of Things (IoT) enables organizations to take advantage of powerful solutions for cost-savings, decision-making, and enhancing business processes, but comes with significant risks. As threats evolve, industrial internet environments must incorporate security practices including enterprise-grade encryption technologies.
“This is an educational forum for those interested in the IIoT and security who recognize both the potential for IIoT solutions as well as the threats to security,” said IIC Executive Director Dr. Richard Soley. “Our attendees may be the single security expert at their company, but our forum brings together many IIoT security experts who can share their experiences and offer lessons learned for creating a secure and trustworthy IIoT.”
The agenda includes a welcome address from Entrust Datacard President and CEO Todd Wilkinson, a keynote from IIC Executive Director Dr. Richard Soley and real world demonstrations, case studies and panel discussions of IoT security solutions that power today’s industry and prepare for a more secure and connected tomorrow.
Leaders in IoT are sponsoring this event: Gold Sponsors HARMAN Connected Services and ADLINK, and silver sponsors Gemalto and eMcREY.
