Cadence Group to Attend SLA 2018
BALTIMORE (PRWEB) May 17, 2018 -- Cadence Group is proud to be at Special Libraries Association’s (SLA) 2018 conference in Baltimore, MD, June 11-13. Cadence Group will run Booth #939 in the General Session Hall on Monday. June 11th from 12-7pm, Tuesday, June 12th from 10am-3:30pm, and Wednesday, June 13th from 10am-1:30pm. Employees Eugene Major and Brynne Norton will present three sessions on June 11th and 12th. As the prime contractor managing & staffing an award-winning and highly valued science and engineering library for the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD, Cadence Group has much to offer any visitors with questions or requests for help. A number of our top library employees from both Washington, D.C. and Atlanta who are familiar with the workings of both public and private libraries will be attending the conference. Additionally, Cadence Group will be bringing boxes of artisan chocolates, handmade by Atlanta-based Modern Chocolatier.
Eugene Major, MS, MSLIS, Cadence Group’s Program Manager and Project Lead at the NASA Goddard Information and Collaboration Center (GIC2) will present at SLA 2018. He will speak in a session titled “Innovation through Integration: Government Libraries Incorporating Researchers' Needs while Upholding the Agency Mission”, co-presenting with three others. Eugene will discuss the work performed to create the award winning and hugely popular GIC2 that meets the needs of both the client and customers. The session will be on June 12th, from 3:30-5pm.
Cadence Group’s Brynne Norton, MLS, will present at two sessions this year. Her first, scheduled for June 11th from 9-10am, is titled “Reading Between the Lines: Document Delivery Best Practices.” She and her co-presenters will examine advancements in interlibrary loans and document delivery and discuss the best way to leverage a library’s tools to support customer requests. Her next session is the same day from 2:15-3:30pm and is titled “Survival Tips for Transitioning to a Special Library.” Brynne and other librarians will discuss their experiences, providing first-hand accounts for those who are curious about or are involved in a transition of their own.
This is a valuable opportunity to meet with professionals that support an award-winning library. When discussing Cadence Group's work, the Library of Conference website states: “foot traffic to the facility increased by more than 300% compared to a similar period before the renovations, and information and research requests increased by more than 50%.” This is an opportunity that should not be missed; get tickets to attend SLA and visit Booth #939.
