Eminutes Launches Women's Entrepreneur Initiative, Invites Likeminded Partners to Join the Effort to Amplify Women's Voices
Eminutes announces SHEminutes, an initiative designed to help women entrepreneurs focus their energy on growing their business and their influence, and invites organizations serving women business owners to join them in expanding the voices and backgrounds of those in the business world.
LOS ANGELES, Jan. 6, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Recognizing the opportunity to support the pandemic-fueled boom in new women-founded businesses and excited by their potential to affect business and societal change, Eminutes announces SHEminutes, an initiative to amplify the voices of women-owned businesses, and invites organizations serving women entrepreneurs to join them in broadening the voices and backgrounds of those in the business world.
"We know that a third of the women-formed businesses launched during the pandemic were due to job or opportunity loss. We also know that when women lead, they advance possibilities not just for themselves and their employees, but for the culture at-large. The lawyers at Eminutes see this as a lemons-to-lemonade moment: we can help women change the dynamics that drove millions of them from the workforce during the pandemic," said Jeff Unger of Eminutes.
The pandemic is cited as the motive for 40% of new business formation last year, and women turned obstacles into opportunities by reimagining their lives and livelihoods. Embracing new digital resources such as website builders, commerce platforms and social media has allowed more entrepreneurs to establish businesses. Eminutes aims to be an early and crucial legal tool for supporting their growth.
Of new businesses created during 2020, 47 percent of them were founded by women, up from 27% in previous years. While women have started new businesses at a high rate, they employ just 8% of U.S. workers and often struggle to expand. Through the SHEminutes Initiative, EMinutes intends to support women entrepreneurs so they can focus energy on their core work instead of the complex aspects of incorporating, forming LLCs or complying with board meeting records requirements, thus helping them to focus on growing their business and their influence. Through SHEminutes, women entrepreneurs can receive Eminutes' foundational legal framework for a greatly reduced fee or even free through partner organizations. This includes education regarding the advantages of incorporation or forming an LLC, as well as customized filing documents.
"Women business leaders are credited with increasing collaboration, professional balance, varied perspectives, problem solving and team building in their companies, along with healthy revenues and public trust. We've seen this internally at Eminutes and through our work with our Arts Initiative. We know that support in incorporating, and compliance can give women a leg up," said Erika Easter of Eminutes.
Eminutes is proud to launch its women's entrepreneur initiative with a partnership with Babson College's Women Innovating Now (WIN) Growth Lab. Through this partnership, Eminutes is extending a 50% discount to current participants in Babson WIN cohorts and all WIN Lab alumnae. This discount reduces the rate for the formation of a corporation or LLC to $437.50, including legal counsel regarding every aspect of the structure of a new company and all filing fees.
To increase its impact, SHEminutes is looking to partner with other female mentorship and incubator programs to offer its services to women entrepreneurs incorporating businesses in California, New York and Texas, states where Eminutes lawyers are licensed. SHEminutes will also collaborate and grant funds to organizations providing mentorship and educational programs for entrepreneurial women. Leaders of such projects are encouraged to reach out to EMinutes to learn more.
