Security Mentor Names Dan Lohrmann as Chief Strategist and Chief Security Officer

In his new role, Lohrmann will lead efforts to define and develop key strategic initiatives for the company’s security awareness training offerings, including new programs for executives. Lohrmann will continue his award-winning speaking, blogging and writing for the Security Mentor team.

Lohrmann is an internationally recognized cybersecurity leader, technologist and author. During his distinguished career, Lohrmann has served global organizations in the public and private sectors in a variety of executive leadership capacities, including enterprise-wide Chief Security Officer (CSO), Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) roles in Michigan.
Lohrmann has over 28 years’ experience in the computer industry, beginning with the National Security Agency (NSA) in Washington, D.C. He spent three years in England as a senior network engineer for Lockheed Martin (formerly Loral Aerospace) followed by four years as IT Director for ManTech International on a US/UK military base.
Lohrmann received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Valparaiso University in Indiana and his M.S. in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. He has been a keynote speaker at major technology and security conferences from South Africa to Moscow to California. Lohrmann has received a long list of professional awards including CSO of the Year by SC Magazine, Public Official of the Year by Governing Magazine and Premier 100 Leader by Computerworld Magazine.
