The Two Become ONE, Literally: The Cardinal Orthopaedic Institute and Ohio Orthopedic Center of Excellence Announce Merger Details
Columbus, OH (PRWEB) August 08, 2013 -- Late last year, two of the region’s largest orthopedic practices announced plans to merge, creating the largest privately owned orthopedic practice in the state. Now, The Cardinal Orthopaedic Institute and Ohio Orthopedic Center of Excellence are ready to launch a new, shared identity as Orthopedic ONE.
“Our new brand is certainly reflective of two organizations becoming one, but it also embodies our shared vision, to place the patient at the center of all we do,” says Joel R. Politi, MD. “The ‘one’ is not a reference to our size or standing, instead it speaks to our mission, which is to make the patient our number one priority.”
The two groups will legally become one on October 1, 2013; however, they plan to begin a phased introduction of the new brand through a variety of marketing efforts designed to prepare patients, referring providers and other key constituents of what changes can be expected immediately following the merger.
“During the first months following the merger, our goal is to provide a smooth transition for our staff, existing patients and referring providers,” says William Fitz, MD. “’New practice name, same great patient care’ is our approach. We will be communicating as frequently as is necessary to keep these important audiences in the know.”
The operational changes will be gradual so that new and existing patients, as well as referring providers, should not experience any significant disruption in service or care. All existing phone numbers and both existing practice web sites will remain active. In addition, a new condensed web site will be available at http://www.orthopedicONE.com. This site will describe Orthopedic ONE and provide merger-specific updates while a more permanent site is under construction.
At present, the groups have a combined 54 physician partners, 76 physical and occupational therapists, more than 450 clinical and administrative employees and 12 locations throughout central Ohio. Together, they will offer general and specialized orthopedic care in areas of spine, physical medicine, total joint replacement, sports medicine, foot and ankle, and hand and upper extremity. Other services will include: physical and occupational therapy; imaging; fitness and wellness; and an on-site surgery center.
