'L'Chaium: Artisans of Life' Debuts Christian Art Show April 6th and 7th
For two days, three artists will show their work at the First Baptist Church at Commercial and Flora in downtown Bellingham, Washington.
Bellingham, WA (PRWEB) March 20, 2007 -- Bringing God's glory into the community through the visual arts, "L'Chaium: Artisans of Life" launches its Christian art ministry at the 2007 Gallery Walk in downtown Bellingham, Washington. Through paintings, drawings and sculpture, three regional Christian artists Barry Donaldson, Cliff Williams and Connie Porter share their visions of the glory of God.

The "L'Chaium: Artisans of Life" art show runs 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. PDT on Friday, April 6th and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. PDT on Saturday, April 7th at the First Baptist Church in downtown Bellingham at Commercial and Flora streets.
"This show is unique in that it brings together artists who share a similar vision, yet whose works are distinct from one another," said artist Barry Donaldson. "Our work brings forth the message of the Word of God for people to see. The Word is illuminated with imagery rather than in written words."
The "L'Chaium: Artisans of Life" art show will debut two new artistic pieces, including "The Spirit and the Law," an original sculpture in wood by Cliff Williams; and "And Elohim Said, 'Let There Be Light,'" an original work on canvas by Barry Donaldson. In addition, Connie Porter will show her original concept work used for a contemporary mural rendition of the Last Supper. Both original work and prints will be available for sale, with 25% of the profits benefiting the Adullam Children's Home in Webuye, Kenya.
Artist Barry Donaldson, working under the name Firescribe, paints prophetically in acrylic and pastel. Inspired by the faith of a Christian filmmaker he befriended in college, Barry began his spiritual quest for a deeper understanding of the ways of God. He then laid down a burgeoning film career in Hollywood to paint the holiness of God.
Barry explained, "Each painting I try to approach not as a master painter, but rather as an obedient servant. I purpose in my spirit to allow God to speak through me. I paint what He shows me to paint." Barry's work can be found on his Web site www.firescribe.com.
Cliff Williams, a lifelong Whatcom County resident, sculpts in clay, wood and metals. Beginning his artistic work as a hobby, God had other plans.
"What a blessing to be at a place like this," explained Cliff. "To be in a position to serve the Lord with my hands by creating…my Abba likes creating, too! My favorite times are when the Lord and I are working on a carving. I find myself just watching as the Lord takes over using my hands to chisel out His creation. I would like to claim credit for these works, but to my credit, all I can claim is the willingness to use the talents God gave me and to re-create the visions He has shown me."
Connie Porter paints using a variety of media. Her contemporary rendition of the Last Supper appears as a mural in downtown Bellingham.
