Bask and Grandparents.com partnership focuses on access to trusted tech support for seniors
LEHI, Utah (PRWEB) October 04, 2016 -- Bask, one of the nation's leading providers of home technology support services for the 55+ community, is partnering with Grandparents.com (OTCQB: GPCM) and its benefits organization, the American Grandparents Association (AGA), to offer their technology solutions designed for retirees, grandparents and senior citizens.
Bask will give AGA members and Grandparents.com users access to remote tech support directly through the Grandparents.com website. The partnership provides AGA members with free basic tech support, along with discounts on more extensive services and subscriptions.
"Seniors are the fastest growing segment of the U.S. population, and also the most appreciative of how smartphones, computers, tablets and social media enhance their connectivity to their families and the world," said Lee Lazarus, Chief Operations Officer of AGA. "Their only frustration is when they have a problem — from how to set-up, to how to get into email, to how to save pictures of their grandkids. Through the AGA's partnership with Bask, we have solved that problem and added a very valuable benefit."
According to the Consumer Sentinel Network, 354,000 imposter scams were reported in 2015, which is a 25 percent increase over 2014. That number continues to rise today, as 557,964 phishing reports were received by the Anti-Phishing Working Group from January to March, 2016. In addition to providing home tech support, Bask aims to prevent seniors from falling into such tech support scams and have expert technology advisors trained to identify and respond to malicious threats.
“The AGA website and Grandparents.com already attract more than 10 million annual visitors, but there are still so many families who would benefit from having a friendly, skilled technology advisor readily available. With this collaboration, we are transforming the accessibility of technology service together,” explained Zane Bennett, Bask Chief Executive Officer. “The number of tech support scams and new viral computer threats grow every day. Our hope is to give members the confidence and expectation of having a trusted leader on their side to protect their private and secure information, on top of providing tech advice and solutions in everyday language.”
Tech support service benefits from Bask are scheduled to become available to all AGA members after October 3, 2016. For more information, please visit grandparents.com/bask.
