LexisNexis Selected as a Finalist for “Best Place to Work” in 2014 NC Tech Awards
Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) October 31, 2014 -- LexisNexis® Legal & Professional, a leading provider of content and technology solutions, today announced it has been selected as a finalist for the NC Tech Awards “Best Place to Work” category. The awards program is presented by the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA) which will announce winners at a Gala at the Raleigh Convention Center in early November.
“There are so many world-class technology companies located in the Triangle area that it makes for steep competition in a best place to work award category,” said Mike Lipps, the managing director for the LexisNexis software division. “It’s an incredible honor to be recognized because we are working very hard to build something special here – a business, a team and a culture.”
A review committee comprised of non-profit, media, education, and technology leaders representing various regions of the state selected this year’s finalists. The awards process culminates with the NC Tech Awards Gala on November 6, 2014 at the Raleigh Convention Center where nearly 800 leaders from across the state will gather to celebrate the tech sector and honor the winners and finalists in each category.
“Since 1995, the NC Tech Awards (formerly the NCTA 21 Awards) have honored companies for outstanding achievement in the tech sector and use of technology,” said NCTA President and CEO Brooks Raiford. “As a finalist in this year’s awards, LexisNexis has distinguished itself as one of the state’s technology leaders.”
Over the course of the several years LexisNexis has steadily consolidated software businesses throughout the company into a single cohesive division dedicated to software. This division is headquartered on NC State’s Centennial Campus – a move the company just completed this past summer. LexisNexis continues to build out a “Software Center of Excellence” and is actively seeking to fill additional open positions in product management, product development and marketing.
