Georgia Manufacturing Expo to Give Charitable Donation
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 19, 2014 -- Georgia Manufacturing Expo (GME) will give all proceeds from their upcoming tour of the Gwinnett Daily Post to the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation NICU. GME has agreed to donate profits from two of the remaining eight tours to this cause.
The Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation NICU has partnered with New Lawrenceville Spring Green Festival for this particular fundraising effort. The funds will go towards purchasing a new ambulance specifically for the NICU. GME will conduct the tour of the Gwinnett Daily Post facility on Thursday, March 27. The tour is open to the public and tickets are only $10.
GME is known for their year round series of tours as part of their mission to highlight the best of Georgia manufacturing's people, products, and plants. Last month GME announced that there are only eight tours left in the series leading up to the expo on June 13-14. In addition to the March 27 tour, GME has agreed to donate proceeds from the tour of shoe maker Okabashi, scheduled for May 22.
“Our partnership with New Lawrenceville helped with the decision to donate to this worthy cause,” said Jason Moss, founder of GME. "The manufacturing industry cares, and we want Gwinnett Medical Center to know that." The NICU at the hospital transports more than 100 babies each year to Gwinnett Medical Center, according to the Foundation. A dedicated ambulance, with special equipment, will help save more precious lives. "It's a wonderful opportunity for Gwinnett community citizens to get involved and give back while enjoying a behind the scenes look of our very own daily newspaper," added Moss. "We are grateful to be able to help."
While some tours hosted by GME are strictly for industry professionals, others are open to the public. In an effort to attract more participants, GME has decided to discount the cost of the Gwinnett Daily Post and Okabashi tours and offer them at $10 for industry professionals and the general public.
The Gwinnett Daily Post is the second largest daily newspaper in the state of Georgia, and is a sponsor for this year's Georgia Manifacturing Expo at the Gwinnett Center. To register for the tour visit http://georgiamanufacturingexpo.com/plant_tours.html.
