PARSIPPANY, N.J. (PRWEB) May 02, 2016 -- Consultative health care market research firm HRA - Healthcare Research & Analytics EVP and GM Jim Callandrillo and Duane Reed, VP of business development of AJMC Strategic Solutions, will be session co-speakers during the 55th Annual Pharmaceutical Business Intelligence and Research Group (PBIRG) General Meeting from May 15-17 at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, Florida. PBIRG is a not-for-profit industry association dedicated to the advancement of global health care marketing research, business intelligence and strategic planning in theory and practice.
Speaking on May 16 at 11:25 a.m. during the “Complex Data for the Complex Patient” University Education Session 3, Callandrillo and Reed’s presentation is entitled “Innovative Approaches Addressing the Complex Patient – A Non-Pharma View.”
Built on both secondary and primary research conducted specifically for this meeting and session, the discussion will explore what innovative, non-pharmaceutical health care companies are doing to address the needs of complex patients and how will this change in the future. This will include determining how organizations define the complex patient and which patients are of the highest priority. In consideration will be such patient disease states as diabetes, oncology, heart failure and mental illness. Also being assessed will be the importance of an aging population as a health care cost driver.
The presentation will correspondingly uncover the top unmet needs and care gaps in providing effective and efficient health care for the complex patient. To this point, Callandrillo and Reed will address how health systems and insurers are using technologies, systems, case management, reimbursement and other approaches in unique ways to improve health care quality and costs.
“To ensure that PBIRG attendees receive the most timely and unique content from our session, we’ll conduct extensive qualitative market research with key decisions makers in payer, health care systems (Accountable Care Organizations/Integrated Delivery Networks), specialty pharmacy and employer organizations,” explains Callandrillo. “This will include pharmacy directors, medical directors, quality assurance directors, employment HR/benefit managers and selected C-Suite decision makers. In addition, we’ll collaborate and receive input from specialty pharmacy key opinion leaders and pharmaceutical industry clients. Attendees will definitely leave our session with a better understanding of addressing the needs of complex patients from a non-pharma viewpoint.”
