(PRWEB) February 04, 2015 -- iHerb, one of the world’s largest and most successful e-commerce companies, has expanded its charitable efforts to include relief programs in China, Korea, Russia and Japan.
In 2014, iHerb donated $425,000 to charitable causes worldwide. New programs include:
• China: China Children and Teenagers Fund, One Foundation, and the China Youth Development Foundation
• Korea: Save the Children Korea
• Russia: Rusfond, Creation and Volunteers to Help Orphans
• Japan: Orange Ribbon Campaign, Yomiuri Light and Humanity Association, and Bridge for Smile
For every first-time customer wishing to support a charitable organization, iHerb will donate $10. Customers simply decide which cause they want iHerb to donate to and forward a highlighted yellow link to people they know.
iHerb, through its iHerb Charitable Foundation, now actively supports charitable programs in six countries. Globally, iHerb also supports Cambodian Children’s Fund, a program that assists children and their families with education, health services and nutrition; and Doctors Without Borders, a program serving people worldwide where the need is greatest, delivering emergency medical aid to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters or exclusion from health care.
“As an international company with customers throughout the world, it’s very important that we give back to communities struggling with enormous humanitarian needs,” said John McCarthy, iHerb’s Director of Marketing. “We anticipate giving well over a half million dollars in 2015 and we hope to expand efforts to other countries in 2016.”
