M. Grisafe Architect Aids City of Long Beach In Testing Online Plan Check System
Long Beach, CA (PRWEB) August 03, 2016 -- M. Grisafe Architect, a commercial and residential architecture firm in Long Beach, California, was recently asked by the City of Long Beach to be among the first to submit construction documents on the city’s new online proposal system for approval. The online system, which is one of the first to be developed for a city in the state of California, is currently in BETA testing. M. Grisafe Architect was invited to submit both commercial and residential project plans through the new system. The commercial project has since successfully completed the new approval process.
Mark Grisafe, owner of M. Grisafe Architect, has previously worked in partnership with the Development Services Department, and its director, Amy Bodek, to help evaluate the city’s permit process. At the end of his evaluation, Grisafe developed and published a case study that city officials have since used to help guide them toward operational changes that would help streamline the process of submitting plans for approval to the various departments.
Grisafe said, “We were so pleased to be asked by the Long Beach Development Services Department to be the first to run plans through their new online proposal system. We have developed an excellent working relationship with the City of Long Beach over the years and are happy to be able to assist them by giving them feedback on their new system.”
Grisafe added, “We think the online system is a great step toward streamlining the process of getting plans approved by the city. Amy Bodek and the entire staff in the Development Services Department have been great to work with and very receptive of our feedback. We look forward to regularly using the online system for future plan approvals, as it should significantly simplify and speed up the process, as well as provide a paperless system that is much more friendly to the environment. With the online system, we are able to submit one set of plans online and have it distributed to all applicable departments, which is much more efficient.”
M. Grisafe Architect was one of only three architecture firms to be invited to take part in the BETA testing of the new online proposal system, and was the first to have architecture plans approved under the new system.
