National Association of Professional Women Inducts Carolina Parada, Staff Research Scientist at Google, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) February 26, 2016 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Carolina Parada as a 2015-2016 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in research engineering. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting 850,000 members and over 200 operating Local Chapters.

As Staff Research Scientist at Google, Ms. Parada is a specialist in machine learning and speech recognition. She assists in making the complex and challenging function of speaking to phones and computers a seamless process. With her team, Ms. Parada worked on “Okay Google,” which enables users to speak their searches. She now works on device speech recognition and voice control and is also involved with IEEE.
Prior to her position at Google, Ms. Parada was a Research Assistant at Johns Hopkins University for five years. While pursuing her Ph.D. in Engineering at Johns Hopkins she interned at IBM, Google and Nuance Communications, where she worked with tools, group implementing forced Viterbi alignment in Acoustic Adaptation modules and wrote scripts to test performance in different data sets. Ms. Parada received her Ph.D. in Engineering and Speech Recognition from Johns
Hopkins.
