Screen Solutions Announces Solution For Keeping Pets Inside With Retractable Screens
Austin, TX (PRWEB) October 04, 2013 -- It has long been an issue with retractable screens: since they aren't secured at the bottom small pets simply nudge their way under the screen fabric and out they go. But the Austin, TX manufacturer of the Plissé retractable screen has solved the pet problem.
Every Plissé retractable screen by Screen Solutions now comes standard with their tension line clips to keep small pets safely indoors.
The Plissé's tension line clips, just one of a bevy of design features in the patent-pending Plissé retractable door screen, slip over the bottom tension line and hook into the bottom rail. Customers use between 6 and 12, depending on the size and determination of their pet, along the bottom of the retractable screen. This secures the screen fabric to the bottom rail, keeps pets in, while still allowing the screen to retract out of the way when not in use.
"What we have found with cats is that they are all different in both physical and mental abilities so I always hesitate to say that our system will work for any cat. That said we have never had anyone who worked with us on the issue who we could not help keep their cats in," explains Douglas J. Bennett, known online and to his customers as "Doug, the Screen Guy."
Bennett says, "What we have found is that it is not so much about the size of the cat but rather about their persistence. If after not finding a simple way out they leave it alone then there is never an issue. If they spend their days trying to defeat it then there may be a problem."
Many retractable screen retailers will try to sell customers on installing a baby gate in front of their retractable screen or placing a piece of plexi glass there. Not only do these "solutions" not work but they defeat the purpose of a retractable screen. The plexi-glass blocks the breeze and most cats are smart enough to quickly figure out that they can jump over a baby gate and still slip right under the screen.
"But we have a few tricks beyond the standard stuff that we send with every unit," says Doug the Screen Guy, who has gone so far as to custom manufacture a bigger tension line clip for a recent customer who had a particularly troublesome cat. The cat spent hours studying the screen and eventually learned how to paw the clips out of the bottom rail. So Screen Solutions made a bigger clip that the cat couldn't dislodge from the bottom rail but still allowed the screen to retract.
Screen Solutions customers are reaping the benefits of purchasing from an American company that takes pride in providing a quality, custom built retractable screen and an affordable price.
"The Plissé screens are so beautiful, easy to install and use! What a wonderful product! My builder was very impressed. They are the best screen doors I have ever had. Thanks for such a great product and service," says H. Sabatini of Trinity, Alabama.
It has taken a lot of research and hard work but Bennett says he is excited to be able to finally offer this great improvement on an already solid product to his retractable screen customers.
