Avid Collector Announces His Search for Original 1969 Janis Joplin Ann Arbor Michigan Psychedelic Style Concert Posters
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) November 27, 2015 -- Avid collector, Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters, announces his search for original 1969 Janis Joplin Ann Arbor Michigan boxing style concert posters. This is one of Joplin's most famous and beautiful concert posters. The concert was held on March 15, 1969 at the Canterbury House at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. The According to Hawley, "It is hard to believe that Joplin's stardom was only for four short years. She had left Big Brother and the Holding Company the year before and played Ann Arbor with her own band James Cotton Blues Band. James Cotton was an established blues artist in his own right. A Michigan University student named Allan Reid designed this poster. The poster is large measuring 22 x 28 inches and was silk screened onto thick poster board. It has a striking psychedelic layout with stylized image of Joplin, bold lettering with an urban silhouette on the left side of the poster. No year or day of the week is included in the layout."
