Preeminent Physiatrist, Dr. Howard Liss, Opens Practice in Riverdale
Riverdale, NY (PRWEB) August 03, 2017 -- Dr. Howard Liss is a pioneering physiatrist who is currently accepting patients at his new Riverdale practice, located at 3333 Henry Hudson Parkway, Suite 1L in Riverdale, NY. Since 1981, patients suffering from chronic pain and injuries have been restored to health based on the expertise and guidance of Dr. Howard Liss. The new Riverdale office is one of three locations of the Howard Liss, M.D. Rehabilitation Institute.
As a medical doctor with a specialty in physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R), a physiatrist’s expertise extends across numerous disciplines. Dr. Liss is qualified to treat a wide variety of medical disorders and conditions that affect the spine, nerves, bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, tendons, brain and spinal cord. He strongly values physical well-being and how physiological wellness contributes to mental wellness. Therefore, Dr. Liss assumes a unique, multidisciplinary approach as a physiatrist. He carries extensive training and widespread exposure to diverse orthopedic, neurological and rheumatological pathology.
The opening of the new Riverdale practice allows Dr. Liss to continue his dream of creating a treatment facility for the effective management of pain and disability with an emphasis on patient care and overall wellbeing. “The new facility gives me the opportunity to reach more patients and introduce them to the benefits of physiatry and our unique ability to treat the whole patient which results in a more optimal outcome,” says Dr. Howard Liss.
Dr. Howard Liss treats disorders that cause pain and disability by providing consultative services and soft tissue and joint injections when needed. When medically appropriate, he makes specific referrals for diagnostic testing (lab work, imaging, electrodiagnosis), physical and occupational therapy, interventional procedures (epidurals and facet joint injections), and surgery.
The Riverdale location of Howard Liss, M.D. Rehabilitation Institute will offer services for back and neck pain, hand conditions, orthopedic and sports injuries, balance issues, women’s health, workplace injuries and other chronic conditions such as multiple sclerosis and complex regional pain syndrome. While recognizing that a minority of patients require surgery, Dr. Liss takes a comprehensive view that considers a patient’s past and present health condition, lifestyle and future goals. He uses non-surgical treatments and his depth of expertise to restore patients to health and refers patients to surgery selectively.
